Migrate > Test > Switch

Getting your application migrated and deployed in .NET is a 3-step process:

  1. Migrate – We perform the automatic migration and make sure all application functionality and user interface is migrated and working in .NET. This can take from a few days up to three months depending on a variety of application specific factors as well as our workload.
  2. Test – The migrated application is thoroughly tested by your QA team. All bugs or inconsistencies between the original and migrated application are resolved by firefly migration within the migration engine and not by making any modifications to your code. This step may take several weeks depending primarily on the availability of your QA resources.
  3. Switch - Application users are switched from the Magic-based application to the migrated .NET-based application and your development team switches from Magic development to .NET development using Microsoft Visual Studio.

The migration process does not require a development freeze as you may continue developing your application in Magic and have your modifications migrated before switching to .NET. 

 

 

.NET Training for Your Magic Developers
